MONOCHROME MONDAY - WARMING UP

About 5 weeks ago, just before Merce Cunningham, visionary choreographer, died at the age of 90, I was invited to watch the rehearsal of choreographer Susan Vencl's new dance CHANGING PLACES. I could not help but photograph the magnificent work space that Merce had created for his own use, and for dancers and choreographers from all over the city. The dancer is Erin Pellecchia.

Not in the script!

  2. The first shot is particularly impressive because of the windows, but all the others are atmospheric too.You photographs reveal the artist in you.

  5. Very nice. I also like the first one but the 2nd with the light crossing through the room was great.

  6. I love monochrome as it brings out details not always seen by the eye in color photos. The first is my favorite with the reflections on the floor.

About Me

My photo
JANUS - looking backwards and forwards is a Janus trait - for me a way to record the "in between thought", whether in retrospect, or as a notion for the future. I make original prints, currently etchings. I sometimes write and take photographs. I am inspired by what I see and read. Although postings are chronologically recorded by date and time in this protocol, the images exhibited, often seen in different stages of production, are from another time. So, with each new posting, earlier postings can undergo revision or amplification as will be noted, or requested. The addition of a SNAPSHOTS Blog and a VIRGINIA WOOLF Blog are included because my different interests tend to influence what I do as an artist. There will be a Family Blog, too, for the same reason.
